Blue Runner Foods Ya-Ya Gumbo Base, 25 oz Can
Walmart
Description
The name Gumbo Ya-Ya is said to come from the fact that bayou women would do a lot of talking or "ya-ya-ing” while they cooked the gumbo all day long. With our quick and easy Blue Runner Creole Ya-Ya Gumbo Base, they’ll be less time for talking and more time for eating. The Ya-Ya base features a darker roux than our traditional recipe, which means stronger seasonings and richer flavors. We’ve cooked the roux longer so you don’t have to. Shake can before opening. In a stockpot, heat Blue Runner Ya-Ya Gumbo Base to a boil. Reduce heat and add seafood, cooked chicken, or sausage and continue to simmer for 3-5 minutes until seafood is cooked. Serve over steamed rice. If desired, garnish with green onion. This 25-ounce yields 6 servings. Since 1918, Blue Runner Foods has been making authentic Creole meals. We’ve never deviated from our time-honored recipes and the slow-cooking methods that make Louisiana’s culinary heritage so special. While we’re famous for our red beans, Blue Runner is Bigger Than Mondays.
